“I have painted abstracts on and off over the year but they are usually done for relaxation.  I usually don’t put these on exhibit.  The guitar and violin pieces were started for fun; the shapes intrigued me and I found that they are great for portraits.  I’ve always loved guitar, especially in flamenco music with its tone, beat and rhythm.  Art is a bit like music.  It starts with an idea, a theme that is then developed a little at a time.  I’ve always enjoyed the creative process and have done every step myself when painting- from priming the canvas to executing the piece.  I like to take it from the start with the raw canvas to the finish when I apply the finishing touches and the sealant.”
